Ratings

I'm sure this has been asked & answered and I don't mean to hijack the thread but how does the chess.com rating compare to USCF? Are they comparable? I.e. if u have a 1600 USCF rating what rating are you going to settle in at here after you play a few games? To answer the OP's question, my USCF (regular) rating is 1938 and my blitz rating here after about 100 games has settled in to around 1650. I'm just returning to tournament (otb) chess after a long a sense and I don't think I'm playing at 1900 (USCF) right now

I would love too, someday...only thing for me it would have to be a mini-vacation. I live in the middle of nowhere and, closest one would probably require an overnight stay. Yes, most definitely someday.

There is no correlation. Different playing pools and different playing environment could make it the same, higher, or lower. All efforts to find a formula for comparison have failed.
Even so, with a blitz rating in the 1600s here, it's a good bet your USCF standard is gonna drop if you play any time soon.
My USCF standard since joining this site has ranged from mid-1600s to 1982. My blitz rating here has ranged from 1700 to 2050, only occasionally dropping below 1700. Most of the time, I've been over 1800.

There are a number of topics where people have tried to come up with calculations to estimate it. I have seen so many outliers to most of those estimations that using the ratings here as a gauge probably aren't very useful, for many people.
I'm playing between 1500-1600 OTB strength in tourneys play (limited in the past couple of years) and my closest site rating is my Live Standard (also with limited games). So, maybe +/- 200 from your Live Standard would be as good a guess as any

Little town in Iowa. I imagine Des Moines would be the closest...or maybe Omaha NE. I'm about half-way between the two.

I'm 2000+, although I haven't played in OTB in 3 years, although I've studied for periods of time in those years. Also, I usually only play max 3 OTB tournaments a year, so my rating doesn't adjust that fast.
I have a positive record against all rating categories up to 2100-2200 USCF, but against 2000-2100 FIDE players it's pretty much even.
