Ratings fluctuations

Obviously everyone's rating fluctuates a certain amount, but at what point do you look at someone's rating graph and start to think something suspicious is going on.

Well, obviously it's not life and death stuff, but I still find it an interesting consideration.

Not sure I agree with the demographics bit. I lose to a lot of people from India/Russia/China, but then I beat a lot of people from those countries. likewise people from 'western' countries. Still, my average fluctuation isn't more than 100 points. I find it strange/suspicious that people's ratings would be fluctuating by , say, 300 points.

maybe when has been playing chess for 5 years and has reached the 1200 and then in 5 days he reach the 2500, I would say thats weird
