I temporarily stopped reading through Nunn's best games and skimmed through a book by both Tisdall and Benko on his life and games. Triumph over misery if i may be allowed to say about his life.  This GM was a true warrioir on the chess board his approach to the game reminds me of the late tony miles style of play. I am amazed as to how he gets into a winning endgame.Sad to see him get from enferior positions to winning ones then lossing at time scamble. The funny side is whenever i see the front cover of his book, he reminds me of Johnny Depp's "Sweeney Todd" look.

If you're referring to "Pal Benko: My Life, Games, and Compositions"

then I agree.

That's a great, great book.  Very entertaining games and stories.  Well worth the $25.00 it costs.

Pal Benko is a true living legend.

Yes that is the book. With Silman in it too. I wonder what would have happened had he not given his pisition to fischer in the 70's interzonals. Geesh! he really looked like johnny depp in that sweeney todd look on the cover.
