I have a rating here over 1600 in Fide its Zero... dont have one..sorry
Real ratings

CC ratings here are all over the board. NMs here can go as low as 1500s, and well + 2200.
Average class players can get to 2200 as well.
How many games in the game load? How much does the player care?
Live is still beta so don't bother comparing yet.

Hmmm.... I must confess I find it odd that a player here can reach 2800+ and apparently not be a GM. Oh well, I suppose the only way to find out for sure what my FIDE rating is is to compete in FIDE tourneys.

I am curious too !!!
I just play online, but i guess that if i start playing over the board my rating would be much lower- here i have no stress

ErrantDeeds> how chess.com ratings compare to FIDE ratings?
A "1579" at Online Chess could be anywhere from 1000 to 1800 FIDE. Given 3 days/move and access to books you rarely hang pieces. We can't know how you'll do given 30-60s/move, no books, pressure, and you're tired...the rating from "Long" Live Chess is a better benchmark that tends to be much closer to OTB ratings.

Kupov have you see ChessNetworks rating?
His blitz and long ratings are about 2000+, not surprising since he is a national master.
If you think you can use online quick chess as an example for rating inflation in live chess you are mistaken. There are so many factors like, premoves, internet connection, mouse speed, reflexes, etc which come into play.

hahahaha I think I just helped to strongly oppose the point I was trying to make.
From my observation, live chess ratings (LONG) are generally fairly accurate when compared to USCF, either 100-150 points off either way.

Live chess at long time controls would be more like OTB if a) it didn't have connection issues and b) the ratings had time to settle down. I've only played 13 long games and have lost 3, 2 of which I was winning before my connection went down. I'm rubbish at speed games, so I just treat blitz as training games and quick as a bit of fun.
I've stopped playing live chess until it is fixed.
Having said this, my online rating is highly inflated. I play at about 1800 FIDE OTB, (although I haven't an official rating currently), but my online rating is 2255.

Yes, the connection issues are a drag, but if you play enough games the rating change due to DC's will be negligible.
Hi folks.
Just out of interest, can somebody give me an idea of how chess.com ratings compare to FIDE ratings? Any players out there with a real world rating that could shed some light?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'd really like to know roughly where I stand. Am I better or worse than I think I am?
Cheers, ED.
