I'm new to chess software. I see that chessbase is the most popular for analyzing my own games. Do I need anything like fritz to go with it? Is chessbase overpriced, or do you get what you pay for?

I appreciate any and all comments!

I recently purchased chessbase 13, and have to say IMO it is worth it.  You dont need fritz, because an engine comes with chessbase 13.  Chessbase 13 does much more than fritz does.  If youre looking for just an engine to play/analyze then go with fritz.  If youre looking for a databse and a way to store your games, opponents, set up databses, etc.  then go with chessbase 13.
