I don't understand why you think there should be a penalty for players being intelligent enough to understand when they have lost. Why waste your time on a lost game when you can start another game? The Grandmasters have been doing this for years. In gruelling Tournaments it would be stupid to waste time and effort on a lost cause when you could be resting or preparing for the next game. Perhaps you need to look to yourself and wonder what it is that prevents you from enjoying the kudos of winning the game because you feel cheated of being in at the kill.
