It's upsetting just to think about. RIP Yuri. I did not know you, but tonights session on the tactics trainer will be dedicated to you dude.

That's a lot of pressure. What happens if you fail all of them?

A Czech flight attendant fell 37,000 feet unaided and survived in the 70's. The plane exploded and I think she landed on snow down the side of a mountain whilst still strapped to her seat. This is believed to be the greatest height fallen unaided and survived. Incredible.

Well I think it is better to die than to survive and have to deal with dozens of broken bones and permanent injuries.

Apparently she suffered only a few broken bones and recovered to lead a regular life.

Who is Yuri?

Why did you have to comment? You made me think Yuri Averbakh had died.

Did you really? My post providing the answer and in red was made one minute after 2Q1C's question.

It was very tragic, but I gotta say, he must have been missing the "safety" gene or something.

Right up there (if that is the phrase I am after) with the Darwin awards.
Hence my gentle choice of words for reasons of clarity. Never speak ill of the dead and all that.
