Hello. How can we train such thing like rook lift? I've noticed that i'm bludering it all the time. Fresh example. What do you think i've played here? Bc1??
Rook lift

It's interesting but even after Bc1 white has big advantage, 3.4 according to here computer analysis. And actually I won this game very quickly.
bb_gum234. The problem is it's not the first time when i've missed it. For example sometimes I have this motif in TT and I miss it all the time. It's difficult for me to find it in a random position so I've decided to ask how we can train specific motif if we see that we miss it all time. I'm not sure if rook lift is a motif, I haven't heard this before.
ne4! is a set for a huge trap, and it very worth trying. cause if dxe4 d5+ only way to block is Bf3 and then bxf6+ winning the qween for bishop and knight. game should be an easy win after it......

Interesting but what's follow up after let's say Nd7? Looks like chipo.

Nf5.
The problem with Nf5 that it will be difficult to include bishop into the play after Bf8. It was the reason why i played Bc1. Bc1 is kind of strategic move.

Thanks! Although if I'm not mistaken, Re6 after a few moves leads to either mate or winning queen and bishop for a rook, the same as Re5. Am I missing something?

1.Re6 Bf6 2.Rxf6 Qxf6 3.Qxf6
If black doesn't block with the bishop, 1.Re6 xxx 2.Qh6+ Kg8 3.Rg6+ Kf7 4.Qh7# I don't see any way to prevent that, so I think Re6 is just as good as Re5.

personally looking at it Nh5 looks strong.
threatening mate on g7, stopping Bf6
if Bf8 defending g7, then Nf6 threatens mate on g8 and h7
