How ironic. A few posts ago, we were getting commended for how sensible, helpful and intelligent we were.
Rude Members
I'm not gay but that guy isn't ugly by any means. Who the heck would make fun of his appearence? At least he can grow a beard, I'm so jelly =(
The solution is simple, I have chat disabled by default. Only allow chat after you play games with someone and friend them. It's been stress free and simple.

I kind of consider it rude to do that to everybody. If people want to actually talk to you nicely, they can't do that. I would just disable it if the person is being rude/distracting. I understand your logic, but that's just my opinion.
Yes. I just played a game in which I said "hi" and my opponent disabled the chat.
which was the time control?
Its just my advice, so you can take it or leave it, but don't disable chat. You then have something to show staff, if it becomes too bad.

I think that at that time control you can say hi, but not much more. I only try to talk a bit when i´m playing at least 30 minutes.
Few days ago, a member send me "1-0" after i blundered a knight, although i had still a lot of counter play. Disgusting.
RE: the person who wrote 1-0 after a piece blunder: That may have just been a shorthand way of saying 'heck of a blunder, man'. Might not have been meant to be rude.
Yeah, I had a game where I made a blunder, was about to resign, and they chatted "You die". So I didn't resign, set a few traps and ended up winning, at which point I politely told them why I didn't resign. They left the chat.

do you consider "gg loser" or "thx loser" to be rude?
