That seems like a pretty simple line you played to gain your material back. Rybka should've found that one much quicker than two hours, I would think. Was there a different series of moves for black that it gave after 15. Nxf7?
Rybka didn't find this move till 16 DEPTH!!

Good Question and thanks for completly knocking the move as simple to find. Rybka gave Kxf7 as the initial best move. And then at a further look Nc5 pops up. .

Fritz 8 had Nxf7 as the top candidate move by depth 11 (under 20 seconds) and had it clearly best at depth 12 (under 30 seconds).
Fritz doesn't like black taking the knight on f7 and prefers 15. ... Nc5 16. Ng5 Nxb3 with an equal game.
Of course, I've seen a number of examples recently where Fritz 8 gets stuff wrong that Rybka gets right.
Did it really take Rybka 2 hours to get to depth 16? Might want to upgrade your hardware. :-)

No no...it didn't take 2 hours. that is just what I gave it to think. It didn't come up with Nxf7 till 16 depth

I wasn't clear. I gave Rybka 2 hours to think. It took about what you say (5 mins) to get to that depth. Not a full two hours!! However even by depth 20 it had settled on the knight move as the best. Sorry if I wasn't clear
So is it the best move ?? because I am trying to check the position with some free engine it says that after 15. Nxf7 black is at 0.3- with the best line, thus seems like king takes Nxf7 like a blunder
My Rybka 3 took about 10 secs to bring it to first choice. Some of the variations after 1...Rxf7 2.Rxe6! are rather nice. One of the themes being that the Nb6 has no flight squares.

What Rybka do you have and what kind of processor...Wow. I must admit mine is an older version on a crap computer. :)

I run Rybka 3 on both processors on my duo Intel Core 2ghz laptop, so nothing that special. It had it as best move by depth 11 latest.

Another cool tactic in this game was:
That was great Bond!
Eh, credits to Glaurung 2.2. I was putting the position in to see how long it took for the knight sac

Lol, sorry for not posting the entire line after Nb6 XD. I was just at a chess club yesterday doing tactical puzzles with friends, and I'm in the habit of hinting people with part of a puzzle. Honestly It just looks likes a good position for white now that I think about it :).
thanks :)

immortalgamer you have the fighting spirit of Fischer, the positional judgement of Capa, the tactical ability of Nezmendinov, and the calculational aptitude of Kasparov...oh wait thats Rybeka...still a very cool move and a game to be proud of!

All the engines i have running on scid get it:
Toga2 about 10s ..rybka 2.2 about the same , stockfish1.5 in about 5 s.
Ok since I am wasting time now heres more:
crafty 2.3 also gets it in a few s. it says nxf7!
The best response for black seems to be nc5 instead of taking.
I have a quad processor though..
Congrats anyway .. I like that combo ..
Whats your rating

LOL...BTW Nezmendinov is the only player I've ever looked over and had no idea what was going on.
I look for tactics in every position during play. I know my limitations as a player will never allow me to be a master of this game. I don't have the time to invest in practice, and I'm not a good enough natural player to move beyond much where I am currently. With that said, I do have some games where everything I have learned comes together and I play really really strong games. This was a 10 min. game I played with a friend here online who usually I war with in 1 min games. He hates how I play the sicilian and berrates me for it (lol). I guess he is right theoretically, but I always say neither of us are good enough for theory to matter much! I always ask myself. If Morphy could beat this guy with this opening even if it equalizes to quickly, then I have a chance to beat him too. Not that I'm as good as Morphy (not at all), just gives me a point of reference to focus on that anything is possible in chess. I think all gambiteers are a bit like this.
After this game I was most interested in the sacrifice I made. Obviously it was a ten min game so I had only about 2 mins to think about this move. I brought the position into Rybka after the game and gave it 2 hours to think. It kept giving me Be3 as the best move until it hit the 16 Depth threshhold and Nxf7! came up. YES. Validation. Hope you enjoy the game and the move Nxf7!
