Can someone recommend some reading material or internet material that will help me improve when it comes to the sacrifice.  I'm rated 1150 at the moment; thanks.

Sharpen Your Tactics and 1001 Winning Chess Combinations. I try to spend most of my time using books that concentrate on various aspects of the game broken down into opening, middle and endgames. I prefer the problem solving books and the more problems you solve, the better your chances of improving your game. I really enjoy doing chess problems and puzzles. I am currenly reading Seirawan's Winning Chess Openings. It's great because he discusses his early mistakes during the opening games very freely, showing you how to avoid them and what led him to them (as opposed to the usual, let me show you my brilliant opening moves...). His writing is very free of ego and he makes a lot of sense without a great deal of fanfare.

Yeah, I rarely play gambits and sacrifices and don't usually look for them, and I play okay, but not great....should learn how to play solid before doing anything "fancy".
