Saying good game don't worry you will improve

Its funny how many players take this as a negative comment, win or lose I usually say good game don't worry you will improve and they go all crazy and some even try to report that, though there is nothing to report by saying it.  Would you be offended if someone said don't worry you will improve if you won or lost?  Why would anyone take offense to it is my question, we can all improve greatly.

Yes. There is nothing wrong with saying it.

Unfortunately, many of us are not in good mood when we lose and we are liable to take your genuine attempt to be a good sport as sarcasm.

Yes there is. You never say good game if you lose.

I would just shrug it off but you should understand "you will improve" is gonna imply "you played bad" by the average person. These aren't world class QBs chatting 20 minutes after the super bowl, it's everyday people reading an extremely impersonal chat box, and the message is being received 2 or 3 seconds after a heartbreaking loss.

If you want it to be received better, make the message a little longer. "Tough game. Don't worry you will improve. Good luck on you next game.". This helps it feel more sincere, since a short message is going to be easier to interpret as patronizing.

It sounds very patronizing, especially the second part. Saying GG is enough. If I were you, I'd get rid of the rest. I could say Bad game, you wont improve instead right? nothing patronizing by telling people they will improve win or lose lol
