Scid filtering?

Is it possible on scid (or chess.com) to filter the games so that I can it get it to show all the games with over 2600 rating, played with a certain opening that either black or white won?

In SCID, yeah, you might have to do a few moves to clipbase, and refilter your results

To check, I just found 12 Vienna games, both players overs 2600, were Black won, fairly simple

Yes, this is simple as pie in SCID.  Just fill in the appropriate fields in the Header Search (in SCID) or the General Search (in Scid vs PC)

Amy (qixel) is correct... it's easy to do.  (SCID vs. PC)

Let's assume I want to search for all of the games where Black won, playing the French Defense, where both players were rated greater than 2600.

Load your selected database.  (FILE - OPEN)
Click on SEARCH and then GENERAL SEARCH.
Enter 2600 in the rating field, for White and Black.
Under the ECO Code field, click the CHOOSE button and select the French Defense.
Chec the "0-1" Result box.  (Uncheck the other Result boxes if they are checked.)

That's it!  Click the SEARCH button.

On my slow laptop, it just too SCID vs. PC about two seconds to search a five million game database.  It found 1,894 games and sure enough, as I browse through the list of these games, all of these games meet the above criteria... Black won, both players rated at or above 2600, and all French Defense games.

With your Game List window open, you can now drag these games from your main database to the clipbase, and then save these games to a new database (file), if you so choose.  (TOOLS - EXPORT ALL FILTER GAMES).

Here's a 13 move French Defense shocker I found, from 2004:

Thanks! I have had scid for a while but don't use it often. I have just changed my openings though and it has become much more useful seeing what variations of the Nimzo Indian the top players play and win with. Also that game is unbelievable!! I think it must have been a blitz or blindfold game..
