Anyone knows what it means?

Just install to the recommended Scid vs PC 4.12 directory, then move over the bin/config/ directory from 4.11. It's not a great or well documented upgrade process though, i agree.

10.5 ! You're a legend :)
Though i am fond of it, it's hard for me to find motivation to support this old version. 10.5 is quite inferior to 10.6
It means i have to slip my Leopard hard-disk into some macbook and make a special compile and upload.

Do any one know how to upload the games, saved in html format from scid or scidvspc, to blog or websites.
Various free softwares / web applications do provide this feature : like chess.com itself, along with knightvision chess, chessbase reader etc.... But i want to learn using saved html files created using scid or scidvspc.

Strange error for me trying to use this program, chess pieces don't show up on the board...
I had a crash on my mac and now (after repaired the computer) when i start scid 4.2.2 doesn't start.
the message: base directory not found appears.
who knows a solution?
Uninstall then reinstall would be my guess.

Probably time to upgrade to Snow Leopard. It's really worth the effort - faster, more stable, more features, and it is the slickest OS X that will ever get made. They started to bloat afterwards.

Could you make it so that the way you layout all the tabs gets remembered so you don't have to arange everything on startup as this is probably the only reason I do not use skid vs pc often.

excellect topic. was easily able to setup scid vs pc because of this thread. my only lamentation is quality of chess pieces. all look blurry except FritzSWS.
The pieces on my site (if you are the one that posted a comment on my blog, which looks like a pretty good guess) were made (mostly) before SCID vs PC supported sizes above 80x80. I will get around to making the pieces support larger sizes than that at some point, but it's kind of a pain :). I will start with the two you requested, though. In the meantime, all of those pieces look clear as a bell at smaller board sizes, so that is at least one option.

Why do I get an error message when I click on a pgn game on my desktop that I downloaded from ICC. The game opens up and I get an error message. The message is: "Imported 1 game:(game 1, line 17) Error: Unexpected symbol: 0-1}" The problem is that I checked the 17th move in my game and there was no error--everything was as it should be. This same thing occurs in all games that I open up but sometimes it is the 16th move that the message says is in error. This is not a fatal error since the game opens up anyway and can be played out or copied or whatever. However it is slightly annoying and I was wondering if it can be corrected. Anyone know any thing about this?
i did install in the same folder as scidvs pc 11, but a subfolder of scidvspc 12 was created in it, and both interface work. What i asked is to have 11 upgraded to12
