Which opening is better with white for my level (1500 rapid, 1600 blitz)? I already know how to play both. Or should I play them both?

I usually play italian

Okay but your elo is lower (1100). And yeah, I usually played that on your level too.

Both are fine, until! Yeah, it’s fine no exceptions. Italian is better according to computer with a very cool 0.2+ more for white than for people who play the scotch and. Maybe there is an exception. Ok now I remember. Italian is more forcing leading to less lines to memorize and remember and study and understand. Yeah Italian is better if you don’t like remembering and if you want that cool 0.2 advantage more than the scotch.

I am not interested in computer evaulation nuances, because on my level that is not what decides. Instead I would like an opening which is easy to play, and it's easy for the opponent to make mistakes. I got destroyed in blitz a few times against the Scotch.

scotch requires a lot of prep but is a very good opening at your level

#6 I already know a lot of lines in the Scotch, and in the Scotch, almost every move is natural.

Haven't tried Italian whisky

Until you decide you can play the Scotch Gambit which is a mixture of the two.

Scotch is more dangerous but high risk high reward.

Italian is drawish.

I suggest you the Scotch, but if I were you I would play 1. h4/a4 or 1. f4.

If you choose the scotch learn the qh4 line. It's what I play and gives me great results.

I play the haxo gambit and it works pretty fine for me, ruin their castling hopes and you can get your king safe and cozy afterwards
