So if i cancel a game because my daughter needs her diaper changed..i get nailed for 7 pts? Wow...that is nice....so that explains instant chess popularity
Of course you lose points. Why should your opponent be penalized by not getting the win?

Yes, I always hope I'm playing someone with a baby needing her diaper changed. Why study chess if people keep having babies?

There is no alternative. Please note how useless 7 points really are. You will win them back.

sorry loopy 2154 but while this is a great site there may be a few people that life has been unkind to. with all that anonymity gives them they say things here they would never say to your face. in reply to your original comment just keep trucking you will get the points back

It sounds like you abort too much and have imposed the fairplay policy penalty of losing the abort function.

I'll be honest- just because you are a parent does not make you a saint. Yeah, you should get a break. But the world can't always bend over backwards for you. If you abort a game, to tend to your child, to run out of a burning house, or to pay the pizza guy, you have to pay the price of aborting a game. Losing a handful of meaningless points seems like a pretty small sacrifice among the many you'll have to make for your child.
