See win rates with different openings?

Hello, I thought it'd be really fun to see my win rates with different openings. Does chess.com show you this anywhere? Or do they even offer some sort of API for your game data at least? I notice they already do have all your games saved anyway. Thanks!

there’s a feature that shows your probability of winning with certain openings but I’m not sure if it shows the rates you actually win with them

It's the Opening Explorer feature and those are not probabilities. Those percentages are historical results based on the database of games.

You can alternate for white/black, daily/live and even just see for bullet, blitz and rapid.

SupernovaUK

use the app aimchess if you want to see opening statistics.

The collection of games might be different, but the Opening Explorer here does the same thing (though I guess that sight might have some additional features)...

It's more than just an opening explorer. It gives you the option to load up all your games and walk through your most popular moves, win statistics included.

Martin_Stahl

Yes, the Explorer here let's you do that too and gives the W/L/D statistics as well.

A word of caution: if you choose an opening with a higher win%, it means nothing to the average chess player. If you know the ins and outs of an “objectively” inferior opening that few play (say the Dutch or the King’s Gambit or the Bird), you will do better than playing a more common opening that everyone is used to defending against. You will know best replies and they will have to calculate. It will also often require opponents to take more time than usual since they are unprepared.

So don’t take the win% to mean all that much.

To my best knowledge, the opening explorer in chess.com only seems to show win rates in their tournament database. It doesn't really show your own personalized win rate. Opening tree does. I could be wrong though.

You change the database to My Games to show your games. You can event look at other player's games as well.
