SERVER DISCONNECTS ME AND I LOSE ON TIME!

It has happened twice in a few hours. Yesterday: http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=1188785843

OK, he had managed to promote a queen, but I wanted to play it to the end. I played the last move, then both clocks froze. I knew nothing for quite a while, than eventually I was told that I had lost on time.

The other one today: http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=1189128865

Here the Android program froze solid, I could only watch my clock go down, I had quite a time advantage.

I am very disappointed. A platinum membership costs over 90 euro and I have seen this happening many times, including with my best friend.

Why with other servers this doesn't happen?

These games should be voided, at least.

Maybe your connection was poor.

It shouldn't happen. You want to play your games to the end, not lose them according to the server's "mood"

Android doesn't count as a "connection".  You are using 1 connection with 3 devices.  Mystery solved.

Also the same thing happens at chesscube.com

I feel like you should just enjoy the game and not worry about minor issue. The site may not be perfect but it offer us the ability to play world wide with others rather than at home to a select few who actually enjoy playing the game of chess

That also correct,You should have fun but it is annoying when you have fun and then your fun is spoiled by server disconnection

If you are sure that it is the internet connection which is at fault, then please look if your connection is continuous. It frequently happens that people have a uncontinuous connection but goes unnoticed because they don't require realtime feedback. For example, you won't notice you have a disconnection for 3 seconds when you are loading a webpage or youtube video. Merely depending on the wifi signal to conclude your connection is still running is not enough.

If you are playing on a windows computer, please run the following in cmd: "ping -t "live.chess.com" (there are similar commands for other OS). If you lost connection in your game (or you think you lost connection), check if the ping is still running. If so, then you know it is not the internet connection is at fault, but something else. However, if the ping is also failing, then you do know that most likely the internet connection is down.

The live server was down at least twice yesterday, so this is not just a problem of the original poster or his internet connection.

And it _is_ very annoying. I hope chess.com will put a stop to this "live chess server hiccups" that have been occuring a lot lately.

No, it is the other way around actually

Finally somebody agrees with me. It is so obvious that it is not down to my connections, everything else works fine on my Android devices (phone and tablet).

I was online when it happened and I won one and lost the other game because of it.

There was brief discussion of the problem, at least for the first incident.

I'll try to find the thread and post the link here.

I just got a message on my phone: "Error! The server is unavailable. Chess.com is currently unavailable." Is that proof enough?

If I had three cars, I would choose one to drive.  Just saying.

That is plenty of proof
