Earlier this year a news-message by chess com regarding outages said the issues causing the outaged were fixed.
Sorry guys, NOT FIXED! A game just ended due to a 502 error, and reading the top posts in the various forum-categories, I see it didn't just happen to me.
Is this considered normal or acceptable? I think it's totally unacceptable. Why is chess.com showing bars indicating connection quality? Am I streaming live video? Am I playing a massive multiplayer online shooter? No, on the contrary, I was playing something along the lines of a 30 minute game, of say 50 moves that would translate to 1 server request every 36 seconds. Even if the connection would be throttled to the speed of a 300 baud modem, it would not matter! I never had a chess game end due to server errors, on Yahoo.com, or Playsite.com, but I have on Chess.com and I've only been playing here since the beginning of this week.
Again what's with the connectivity bars? It's hard to think of games that are less demanding of server time than a chess game. Is the need for the bars perhaps to make it seem normal what is actually ridiculous??
