from time to time, my settings change and i have to reset them.  cause?

i set it so the rating range of opponents is within 50 under to 50 over my rating, but i have games with opponents far outside that.  so i check settings and my preference has been removed.  i also set it so when i make a move, i automatically go to next available game.  sometimes this setting changes to stay on this game.
