it would appear that her chess is almost as bad as your spelling :)
Seriously, though... why can't she just use your diamond account on chess.com?

sir ghostnight,i believe your wife has just undergone eye surgery and you need extra patience in teaching her chess as his eye performance is not yet at its optimum level,i do not wonder if her bishops move changes color. familiarization with every activity of chess pieces on the board is a priority for a beginner sir. have her eat like lots of squash seeds and carrots good for the eyes aside from protein sources and fish oil with omega 3 found in vitamins to improve existing neurons from dying neurons to produce good neurons for the brain and a lot of antioxidants like blueberries and all berries that are in season.,also pistachios good for the brain.
My wife has always looked over my shouder when I am playing chess, and I have never had the patients to teach a beginner, so now she has a mac computer, and there are not too many softwear for mac, but I found this softwear, 'Alexandra Teaches Chess". Anyone familiar with this program? By Alexandra Kosteniuk. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
BTW, Its not that I am a bad guy, but when some one makes a move live moving there dark bishop and ending up on a light square, well lolol
I've emailed you a suggestion on this.
IMHO - She is your wife, I'd be honored to have my significant other show such interest in a game that I played. Perhaps you should learn and practice meditation?
Other than that, have her open an account on here; that way, legal moves are enforced, you can introduce her to 'timed play', and she can find people of similar skill level to play against.
You could also, for failry cheap, purchase Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac. That way she could run windows programs like Chessmaster XI: Grandmaster Edition - which, in my experience, has an excellent acadamy section led by Josh Waitzkin. It's quite entertaining, paced very well, and will teach her to approach learning the game in the following order; Middle Game, End Game, Openings... Where, in the words of Waitzkin, "... that way, you're always working away from your opponents comfort zone, and towards yours."
Good luck!
Great ideas, and I will work on my spellin, lolo What I cannot get over she is not bothered by losing every time she plays, she just likes thinking her self being a chess player and playing the game. I think her rating is about 800 to 900.
If she's not bothered by losing, she's in a perfect mindset to develop her skills and nurture love of the game.
If she likes carrots, all the better, apparently.
Thanks, have any friends rating about 500? lolo You may just win her first game, thats means I would have to take her out to dinner, clean the dishes for a month, pick up all the dogys poop for a year. Maybe for get the 500 player
You know, it should be easy enough to coach her to some level of competency. I made a friend of mine way better than anyone she knows by instilling the simple rules of opening development, and teaching her to focus on simple threats and captures. So you shouldn't make any wild promises like that
