Many have much shorter games than this 14-move game, but going on the offense big time on move 10 instead of instinctively defending against the Q & R N-fork that was threatened marked a big step forward in my chess ability. I didn't see a sure win but I smelled blood! The Tactics Trainer does make you better! My 1495 rating then is 1861 now.

I mouse-slipped and decided to start a new game. tongue.png

over the board game against my brother. i was white. i knew he wouldn't see Bxh3 because he barely knows how the pieces move.

What happened to "play the board, not the rating"?

When playing against Bird's opening I quite like From's Gambit. I've had several games end exactly like this

this is mostly true but I've done this more than five times against him. I've beaten him with rook, two knights, queen and bishop odds. he really knows nothing about chess apart from the rules (except for en passant).

he's not interested. the only time i play him is when we do a deal. i watch an episode of Dr who with him in exchange for about 5-10 chess games.

The shortest USCF game I ever played was against a 18xx opponent:

I was a gaming monk for several years at the local Renaissance Festival. I played several games that lasted two moves.

Bh5 was a terrible move but i understand why he did it. it was to defend from Bxf7#.

Taking the pawn with the queen, instead of the bishop, was really cold-blooded. surprise.png
