Gouryella, were you Ramona-Carbona and Bonny-Rotten?
Should chess be considered a sport?
Based on that answer, you probably were. I've never been anybody but myself, and hopefully never will be.

Next, you'll be claiming he's Irish. These insults are unacceptable!
shocking!
well he does have a difficult task of ensuring he can keep track of his past hates, whoever they were. and the temptation to derail someone's thread is often totally overwhelming, even for such nice nice members as Theron.

I didn't know you were a past hate, probably because I don't track them, but if you want to be a future hate it can probably be arranged

now try to have some respect for the OP's thread and it's ok for you to think you are superior.
But since I have your kind permission, I will begin to consider myself superior forthwith.
You guess...technically ....!?? I guess making coffee requires some degree of fine motor skills, especially when making a quick cup so technically making coffee is a sport.
Agreed, if there was a game where you had to race to make the fastest coffee and it became popular I guess it could be considered a sport.
Then Starbucks could hire the Magnus Carlsen of the sport of Coffee(to make their coffee), maybe then they could justify their prices.

1.an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment."team sports such as baseball and soccer"
Since chess does not really require physical exertion I guess, by definition, it would not be considered a sport.
Sport is a cultural term. In eastern Europe and Russia, chess is covered in the sports pages. Here in the US, it's rarely covered at all!
Good point.
Sports Illustrated does an article about chess about once every two years.
