It seems a couple of people have suggested changing the background, any recommendations? Also thank you so much for the input gary_sorkin & Mike_Kalish
I think a chess board is a little too easy. I like what Mike_Kalish said: "I believe your profile picture should give others a sense of who you really are so we see each other as real people instead of just opponents."

Keep in mind this profile picture has been used by me for over 2 years now.
The background has been used for over 1 1/2 years.
What do you like besides chess?

Tip: Try not to choose a background that makes it hard to read. I totally have not learned this from expericence.

I look at the pictures of every opponent I play....and I care. If it's a good picture, I'll show it to my wife and tell her, "Here's the guy that just ruined my day all the way from Brazil"....or wherever.
But I really do like seeing who I'm playing, and better yet if they say something about themselves in their profile.

I do prefer a minimalistic profile as you can see for mine...
This has kind of been something on my mind for a bit. I want to hear what the chess community thinks, and if any ideas what should it be?
