I believe your profile picture should give others a sense of who you really are so we see each other as real people instead of just opponents.

Keep in mind this profile picture has been used by me for over 2 years now.
The background has been used for over 1 1/2 years.

Nobody cares about your profile picture and background except you. If you’re playing games, people are focused on the game. If you’re commenting on the forum, people are focusing on your contribution to the discussion (or not).

Tip: Try not to choose a background that makes it hard to read. I totally have not learned this from expericence.

I look at the pictures of every opponent I play....and I care. If it's a good picture, I'll show it to my wife and tell her, "Here's the guy that just ruined my day all the way from Brazil"....or wherever.
But I really do like seeing who I'm playing, and better yet if they say something about themselves in their profile.

I love the color orange, enjoying all of what I played of Color Splash, and I use Larry in Mario Kart, which is why my profile picture is Larry.
