Actually, I must make a disclaimer. In my previous post (3312), I was not saying that I only beat wood pushers; that would be an insult to all of those I have defeated as well as untrue. So far, I have not played any wood pushers on this site.

COOL! The first disclaimer in this thread! ;D

OK. I must clarify my disclaimer in the interest of being honest. I said, "...to all of those I have defeated..."  I have only beaten one person (twice) on this site and she is definately no wood pusher in my book.

There, I feel better now.

Chess is for babies, Go is for adults. 10^700 possible games at least...compared to chesss 10^120, ... both way more than the measly 10^80 predicted electrons in the known Universe!

Incorrect: Go on a 19x19 board has 10^360 possible games. Chess has 10^123 possible games.

Amusingly, stratego takes the cake for variations with a whopping 10^535 different possible games!

Dude:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_and_mathematics

wikipedia is disagreeing with itself apparently.

User-based content (sigh)

I stand partially corrected. I have no clue how many possibilities there are then. Care to do some math? Wink

I'm pretty sure we can beat or at least tie go when 19x19 chess is invented

Derp giraffe is wrong. 1 + 1 is obviously 3. Mammals these days! (mutters under breath: so dumb).

@ December: Great! Just think. When I work remotely, I take my 2 hour lunch and play chess at the local cafe. Benefits of working remotely. Or is it remotely working? Hmm.

dragonair234

^Lol. Well, *I* only had to work 2 days this week and 2 days next week at my part time summer job! I'm not trying to make a living off of this job obviously it's just some spending/saving money, so, I'm happy to have some free time during the SUMMER, emphasis on summer! :)

hehe

winerkleiner

Saving money is a very good thing, I've learned many ways of doing this, it's very satisfying, way to go Dragon!!

dragonair234

Thank you, thank you. I like this support group. lol

akafett

I save $ by being a tight-wad. Actually, I save change; that's one way I save.

winerkleiner

Change is great, I just cashed in $58 the other day...and into the bank it went!

dragonair234

I found a $20 on the ground last month! Woo-hoo! It's long gone now though lol

BTW back for another year (2 semesters) of University Chess Club meetings in 4 weeks! Summer went by so fast.

winerkleiner

Now find that every month and you are on your way!

dragonair234

Lol, funny thing is, I found it in the store. So of course I didn't save it. I spent it on something worth $20 in there. What – it was a really cute top!!!!! (-:

You spent it on clothes?  I would have bought candy!

camberfoil

$3? Now it'd be probably be $3 for the hot dog, $2.50 for the soda, and $1.25 for the candy, totaling more than twice that. Oh, how I hate thee, inflation...

akafett

Ok, December, Dragon, I can top you. True story. When I was 13, I was raking leaves off of our pool cover and found a $100 bill. That's right, a Ben Franklin. I asked my dad if he lost it, he said no. So, I used it to help me buy my guitar.

colinsaul

I am confused, Buster. It is right that you can't castle out of check. It is a non-chess player who would say you could.
