Heh nice dialogue... it could go on and on lol
I have been challenged to a rematch tonight at the club! (you know, the pool side I mentioned earlier). I completely crushed this opponent last week, and now he wants a rematch. He says that he has been practicing frantically over the past week. I think he's cramming some blitz traps up his sleeve (may not work with a 45 min time control).
We'll see how it goes.
Good luck! Try not to flirt with him too much at the poolside ;D
You don't need to worry about me flirting with guys. Anyway, the dude didn't show.
But I did get to play 10 games. Sounds good, right? My opponents were ALL non-chessers. Three of them kept trying to move a pawn sideways, one thought checkmate could be answered with a checking move, and none of them knew how to castle properly (let's not mention en-passant). But, ALL of them insisted they knew how to play chess.
So, let's do this....
I played black every game. They would open with 1.h3 or g4. I made mostly random moves, allowing the players to capture my pieces at will, if they saw the opportunity. Three of the games I decided to only # with a Q and B (but I didn't tell anyone that). Three other games I # with only Q + N.
And to one opponent I gave rook odds + both Ns and both Bs. I won with two Qs.
Only one game did I think would be serious for me. My opponent opened with 1.d4. I was like,"yes!" So I replied with Nf6, going for a KID. Next move 2. h3....... Ok, so I continued with the KID set up. Next thing I know, I was asked, "How did you get all of your pieces out like that?"
It was fun. I didn't make anyone feel bad or anything. I was about to teach them some things, but one of them was a "chess-know-it-all" (one who tried to move pawns sideways). It was the most OTB games I have ever played inside 1.5 hours.
IDK. All I know is that it's summer. And it's too hot.
