Your probably right, there was a time when I thought I was a good player, but not anymore, time to give the game up. Once you have reached your level, there is no improvement that can be achieved, and it's time to quit. Today I will play my last game.

If posting this make you feel better, okay. Everyone needs to pull their negative feeling out.

It's time to quit when you no longer enjoy playing. No one should waste time on something that doesn't provide some enjoyment.

You can say that about pretty much anything. Running, Lifting weights. Golf. You can improve up to a point where it takes a lot of effort just to maintain that level, and any further improvement can only come by devoting a great deal of time to your pastime. If you think that means you need to quit, that suggests that you're no longer deriving any pleasure from it, and maybe you do need a break.

I have come to the conclusion that chess is not that interesting and a lot of vile people play it, so I will do something else with my time that is more interesting than playing boring chess. If I can thank anyone for coming to that conclusion, it's chess.com.

If you can't think very quickly, no amount of devotion to improving will help you get better at blitz or bullet.

I don't think bullet chess is very much fun. I also think "thinking quickly" is kind of a misnomer, because in my opinion you can't really rush the thinking process. It might be possible that two different people can arrive at the same conclusion by the same steps, but is takes one person longer to do it, but I don't think that's the way it usually happens. I think people who appear to think quicker just think differently, and take different steps than the slower people take. It would be difficult to test that, though, because how would you ever be able to verify what the experience of someone else's thought process is like?

I've been a member here for over 7 years; and I've been there many, many times -- coming across very verbally abusive and offense players, and also losing 15 games in a row, going up and down in my ratings (which very many here also experience). However, I've come to conclude that they are not bots that are being generated by Chess.com, but there are players here that do use them -- and many of them have not been caught yet or reported to Chess.com.

Lately, I've been on the social side (meaning, interacting in forums); however, if you want to continue playing on this site, we must try not to be discouraged and, also, we must report any players with whom we suspect of using a bot or an engine.
