Caruana is on fire. Unbelieveable how well he's playing in the highest rated event ever. And he's so young. He's can get better. Looking forward to the rest of this ....
Sinquefield Cup 2014
Alekhine vs Capablacnca
Kasparov vs Karpov
Carlsen vs Caruana is brewing to be a great rivalry
Was thinking the same thing. Guess it helps to have a 'k' sound in your name, preferably at the beginning.
I would so want him to win tomorrow against Nakamura too... 5-0 and this is bound to become a legendary tournament - not just because of the sick score but man look at the impressive win over Aronian, a positional masterpiece with a Kasparov-like move (Na5 and the following sacrifice), his Nd3 against Carlsen, the prep and interesting win against Lagrave...
I've seen a lot of chess tournaments but this is the first time in the last 5 years or something that a player just walks into Fischer's zone. Karjakin's 4-0 at Norway 2013 was good but the games were not that special, in my opinion.
trotters is such a funny poster, please respect him since his job is difficult: to find and ampli-find bad things about Carlsen...
Look at his classy post-game interview with Maurice - and people say he's arrogant! Bah! Quite the contrary.
The bar next to the tourney is closed tonight :(
I will stop in tomorrow and see the players.
Sorry if this post seems silly but Americans rarely get a chance to see the best players in the world.
Fab-iano is simply red hot now. But next round against Naka will tricky. Naka has a plus score against him.
I really hope Nakamura beats Fabiano. I just don't like him. I am not particularly keen on how he plays, or the way he presents him as a person. I'm sure he's an alright guy, but he's just an underwhelming personality and I would like to see less of him.
Fab-iano is still much more preferable to Carlsen. He doesn't disrespect his opponents. Plus he looks like a throwback to the 1950s and 60s. And I think that's cool.

Carlsen has a plus score against him, but Carlsen got PWNED by Fabiano. I don't like Fabiano though. I'm sure he's an alright guy, etc. but he's obviously cheating, which isn't good for chess.

Mighty bold claim there!
Minor, you're a 1300 player, how they hell would you even be able to tell if a Grandmaster were cheating? Quit trolling an otherwise nice thread where we are discussing an awesome event. Sit back and watch some really excellent chess by a young master that is just coming in to his stride... I expect big things from this young man the next 10-15 years.
The next decade or more is going to be a really good era for our beloved game. Carlsen, Caruana, Nakamura, MVL, an assortment of Chinese masters on the rise, etc. etc. Should make for a lot of really exciting chess as long as politics don't mess it up....
Forza Fabiano
