I don't know if chess.com has slow live tournaments, but there are at least a couple of groups that do slow tournaments in live.

I went to the first link and I see the following.

"Please note that if you are not eligible to play, access will be denied."

Ok, so, how can you be eligible?  I don't see any eligibility rules.

"Opened to all players? No. Only the Non Veteran Players and the Non Qualified players are allowed to play;"

This is worded strange.  It's only open to non-qualified players?  What are the qualifications I am not supposed to have to be qualified to join?

"Checking-in? Yes, every players. Be on the look out for the related Sub Group Alert;"

What does this mean?  Sub group alert? Huh?

You want to look for "Qualification Tourney" in the Slow Live Chess Assoc.

You will end up playing three practice games, then you won't be a non vet or non qualified player.

The Qualification Tourney gives you practice in the protocols.

Sorry for not knowing each and every meaning of these words.  I still don't understand some things.

"You will end up playing three practice games"

These 3 games are not part of a tournament then?

"The Qualification Tourney gives you practice in the protocols."

What does that mean?  Qualification for what?  What do you mean by protocols?  A protocol usually means a procedure or format that people follow.

If you played these 3 practice games, a qualification tournament, waited 4 months, and another qualification tournament was scheduled would you then play 3 more practice games?

When would people play in the "protocols"?  How many people play?  Perhaps a schedule of events might clarify things.

Like:

  • Week 1, 1-3 practice games played
  • Week 2, 1-3 practice games played for remaining players
  • Week 3, Qualification tournament
  • Week 4, Protocols (whatever that is, does it need more than 1 week?)

The protocols are learning to use the Negotiation Forums.

I was tired last night , let me try and put it in chronological sequence.

1.Sign up for "Qualification" Tourney

2. Pairings are made. Use Negotiation forums to get a game time time with opponent.

3. Play 1 game a week, for 3 weeks.

Thne you qualify for the regular tourneys.

Everything is based on forums..... GO to the SLCA main page and find the Qualification Tourney Forum....Sign up and all the other fourms are there.
