When a clever play is made to put me in a clear mate position, I allow the play to continue. It just seems like the right thing to do. What the heck, give the opponent the mate rather than resign.

to be fair TECHNICALLY it is not forced since he has 2 moves (Kc8 Qc7#) as stated. it is a faster way of losing though

he can choose to be mated faster or slower, not forced, although your statement is almost accurate
