I just miss clicked my bish away because i'm getting on a bit or i've got arthritis ( how many brits remember that ad)? Just got me thinking how many more folk miss click in live chess, is there something chess.com could put in place to stop this from happening like in daily chess when you have to confirm your move.

I've lost a few games that were 100% winning for me because of finger slips on my phone's screen. it sucks, but it happens

Instead of drag and drop, try clicking the piece you want to move, then clicking the destination square.

A 'confirm' button is available on the phone apps, for both Daily and Live Chess -- you can find it in the settings.

The only arena wherein it's not available as an option is in Live Chess on the site itself.

i have started trying what chin of quinn has suggested but instead of misswipes i can run into the issue of my sausage fingers still muffing it up

but it is more accurate, regardless of my physical limitations to be sure

I don't think people would call my fingers fat... but I still mess up like that sometimes.

For me what worked was using the side of the tip of my pinkie. I think the trick, for me at least, is diminishing as much as possible how much the finger blocks the view of where you're touching. With the index finger, looking straight down at it, the fatty curved part underneath is hidden, so I can't be as exact with the part that makes contact first.

Also, the old marksman's tip: even if your target is very small, aim for the middle of it.

Not as often as you'd think, considering I play on a touch screen and I absolutely do NOT have steady hands.

But a fair amount, maybe once every 5 or 6 games. It usually isn't too devastating when it happens though. Most of the time I can continue playing afterwards and still have a reasonable chance of pulling out the win.

ok I know this sounds crazy but what if they added a check feature that you can toggle on and off in longer games like 10 min +. When toggled on you can move pieces by hovering them over squares, and if you accidently let go it just rubber bands your pieces back to original position. I'm only saying this because a lot of my miss clicks are me hovering pieces over potential squares that I want to go to then I decide to put piece back because I have a better move, and accidently drop it to early. so this may be a potential solution to miss clicks. I feel like this would be a good solution because if you don't want to have it on you can just toggle it off. and act like it never exists.

Happens. It happens in chess and World of tanks, the games I play. I shrug and move on. If you are having trouble with mouse use because of arthritis, look into specialist mice. The "vertical mouse" is really popular in my office with the older generation https://www.amazon.com.au/Perixx-10844-PM-508-10844-Mouse-Black/dp/B018Y0RU00/ref=sr_1_22?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.mknztUSX2zaOXy48XL1FGED-JUncDBm6vYmSkAi2kKW7DsrH_RTkc4nYVJ1fHVQa8UZ1qg01WKBan55MDYwbFmioZGv68Jkwg_ppdao2m6R-38xdXyW44xAvxlxzb9eAF0bzJyIWVjSliST06_CsdnVhLawfc2nV1OfRBtCmC19NFZFKRu6A7KjZDWwipxkFwu61nzMnRUQWlR7pzlg-xCJLuexPZImsMwh-esXhadz-0t9Q64ZGsTWBOPrZqwkheX6ywheGzSK7PqfVnyf7ZKhhw0dyKzcD68oykU8WZcw.lYMCDGYQjiCUZ1ZkYdvB63QP10YXwKH69x-ORsvywZg&dib_tag=se&keywords=mouse%2Barthritic&qid=1712858431&sr=8-22&th=1

This is so simple and I don't know why I didn't think of this until now, thanks mate.
