Some players refuse to play chess with clock!

Some people I know, C class mostly B class players want to play for $$$ BUT without a clock whatsoever, they say they are not familiar with it or don't know how to use it etc...

So my question is would you still play someone for $$$ if they refuse to use the clock?

Probably, but I would feel no remorse walking away if they were taking an outrageous time for a move.

In our circle of players we had one that no one could beat! Once in a losing position he would stare at the board and not move! I only play with a clock- especially for $

They are rated B or C and don't know how to use a clock?  It's so easy to use - show them and make sure they press the clock lever with the same hand with which they moved the pieces - otherwise what's to learn?  It taught my 8 year-old nephew how to use it in less than a minute.  If they won't use a clock, I wouldn't play them period.

They are not B or C players. They are probably not even D or E players if they don't understand the concept of or how to use a chess clock.

By definition, to be a B or C player, you have to have played in official FIDE or nationally sanctioned tournaments where there are clocks. Unless you're talking about correspondence, which has move time limits in days.

Shameless people like this are why I wouldn't play for money without a clock.
