When I verse a titled player that is like 2400-2500, I usually send them a rematch. The reason is one: Playing stronger players helps you grow from pleb to Hikaru level. (Sorry to those who want to play me, but I just want to play strong players. Please do not get offended) Second: There is always the off-chance you will win and throw them on the tilt train.
-------------------------
I was versing this IM, and he was VERY strong. However, I assume he took my skill a little bit too lightly lol. After 5 games of losing, I won a game. Most titled players would stop, since most of the time (in my experience) they just want to farm rating out of you and adopt you. This IM I really liked since he genuinely liked playing me. I respect that guy @Marticafierro. I ended up getting a boost of energy even though I think it was 11:30 pm at the time. I won 5 more games in a row. Sometimes I hold back using all my strength because some people play off-beat moves that confuse me. But titled players stick to the main line most of the time. Even though I probably lost more than 100 rating points losing to stronger chess players, I had a lot of fun, and it was great knowing that I got to play a strong chess player. I'm not saying people who aren't titled are plebs, but I do respect titled players since they did a lot of work to get the FM, IM, CM, NM titles. I ended farming quite the hefty amount of rating out of that IM, which is funny since I (a fake FM) am farming a real IM. It was bullet though, so that's why he was struggling. I had a lot of fun with that guy, it brought out the inner child of me, and I hope to verse him again. Just saying, if you're not titled, I recommend rematch titled players, it'll be fun, even if you lose all your rating. As a fakeus Fide Master once said: Rating is just a number.
