Well of course just before the turn of the century the standard of Chess Titans was rather weak rated as 1 to 10. I vaguely remember microsoft chess titans set on level 10 could be beaten in a dozen or so moves if you charged your pawns and moved no piece beyond the second rank before beginning your mating attack.
So sure if OP is running such a chess game on level 3 then I would guess his idea is enough to beat it.
As we all know stronger engines today would not play some of the engine moves in the sample game.
