For blitz (speed chess) players, I guess their forte is the opening and possibly even the middlegame. For standard players (you call slower player) who don't know their opening theory, the extra time can be used in analyzing every position. You said you lose to 'slow' players; well perhaps study more the end game, and ways on getting a good end game position. And sometimes we forget, play chess for fun!

I know how you feel. I was playing blitz games with friends on real boards before chess.com
