first, don't be afraid to lose. Even world champions lose to the next world champion. second, don't play his game. Find an opening or defence or variation he does not like or one you like so much you're willing to lose with it. Losing is not surrender! Third, Realize that people like that will always have an excuse even when you do win. & lastly KNOW your endgames and your checkmates! Those are the moments where wins become draws & draws become losses

Do you guys know the guy I"m talking about? The egotistical guy who has everybody waiting in line to play him and then promptly thrashed him with seemingly alien like chess skills? He beats player after player, perhaps getting a draw with one or maybe even losing every once in a great while. This is the guy who hates to lose. The guy with the huge ego. The guy you can't stand because you can't beat him. You are lucky to get one game out of 10. How do you beat this guy in speed chess (5 minute)?
