Thanks zborg and Doggy Style; for the words of reason even when chaos has become the normal.

It has been bugging me since the fault first developed.

I just needed someone else, of a sensible nature, to say it first.

(Otherwise, it is difficult for this pedant to know where his mania starts and ends)

It'll be fixed after five more site redesigns.

Who cares about spell check? The only check you want is check mate. And how could you check all the languages here? French, arab, chinese, english,...

I guess "Lou for you" has been shown to be a clod that can't read what the members of chess.com would like from our chess home.

Just try to write properly. Nobody cares.

That's alright, at least you are speaking for yourself and not the entire chess.com population.

What's worse is that they had it once, so why not now?  And if you're not going to have it, then remove the button for it!!

I can spell ok, maybe a few mistakes now and then, but it doesn't much matter to me if there is a spell check or not.

Its a funny world where we expect a site to provide a spell check to correct our mistakes. What happened to personal responsiblity?

If you own a cell phone will you ever use a pay phone again? It's called progress. In like manner if there is an icon for "spell check" I expect to be able to use it and not go to a damn dictionary to look it up just to see how to spell a word that I don't know how to spell in the first place because it's never where I expect to find it.

Ruby-Fischer

Looking a word up in a dictionary might make you remember it, so next time you don't need a dictionary.

There are a millon words I don't know how to spell correctly, I'll be dead before I can look them all up and memorize them. Hell I can't remember what I cooked for dinner two nights ago so it would be impossible for me to make it some sort of wonderful learning process.

Never works for me.
