Square Off - Chess Set

PS: after having some trouble with a tablet too old (?) to accept the app, i had to buy one, but everything if fine now.

I have already a new tablet, just waiting for the computer .

I got my Square Off chess set today and have played a round against the AI to give it a quick test, Here are my first thoughts on this set.

 First impressions of the unit are that it is Incredible! It simply is one of the coolest pieces of tech I have seen in a long time. My first round on the board was almost magical.

 The Android app works perfect it updated my board and went right into setting up a match. I am sure this will only get better with time. You can play a friend who also has the app even if they do not have the board.

 The build quality is a bit rushed. I have big bubbles under the top of the board on the side and some scuff marks on the plastic.

 The pieces are a bit small but not to the point of making it hard to move. 

Overall I am very happy with my unit and would buy again in a heartbeat even with the quality issues. 

My board came in flawless condition. Not a scratch or imperfection on it.  I wonder if it happened during the the shipping process

I may be lucky too with the transportation, with mine : nothing wrong.

I just hope they have take care of the technology the same way they have take care of the design of the packaging...

I prefer a wonderfully written letter in a simple envelope, to a beautiful envelope containing a banal letter.

I think it might have something to do with shipping the box was really beat up. Its not really that bad just something I wanted to add to my review to be fair. I love the board and plan on buying another one for my brother in New York. 

I am trying to figure out what the ranking is for each lvl of the computer 1-20. I think 1 is around 400 but I could be wrong. I have not seen this information posted any ware. Does anyone have a clue?

I was able to play a person from my phone with the squareoff app.  I am wondering the person I was playing had a chess board icon at the top while my side had a phone icon would this indicate I was playing someone with a squareoff chess board?  His user name was Oliver it didnt show a user name for me for some reason.  It is by the way the first time i was able to connect with it a good sign more people are getting their boards.

Computer LVL 20 crushed me very quickly lol. 

I have no idea, I am roughly 1400-1700 rated player. I can beat level 15 as white but not as black. Level 20 gets me every time. Computers never follow theory in the openings and that messes me up lol

...my 6 cats are not allowed to touch, or play , with any of my little collection of chess set (about 84) in the house / room where i live 365 days, and you know what! i think i have learn them well because they listen to me

(Hum! except for one... he cheat when we play chess together )

i just got the board three days ago after ordering it three weeks ago. It is the most amazing experience; its a small team so they

arent done with it yet; they havent finished integrating it with chess.com yet (hopefully next couple of months) so the only time you will get a game is when the 10 other people in the world are on it ( super rare although i have had three or four great games so far although check every night now after work and am almost always alone save for 2-3 seemly fake accounts that dont accept your challenges with indian names( possibly the founders making it seem like its not completely dead)) playing a human opponent on the board is completely satifying although they havent programmed timed matches between humans so you could be playing with an extremely 

slow opponent.

overall i highly recommend it(

so i can possbly have some more matches ; although now they might be out of stock again)
