Afaik, they will tell you when it gets closer to the ship date.

Has anyone else had a warranty problem with their Square Off Board? Mine quit working after about a month and I reached out to support. That’s been 5 months ago! They eventually sent me the shipping label to send the board back, which I did 2 months ago. Now all I get when I reach out to support is that they have to check with their logistics team. That has been 3 months.

Wish I’d read this thread before ordering. Can I ask if orders are being delivered at the moment and when the order was placed? I’m thinking maybe I should buy a large iPad and cancel the order. Thanks in advance

Orders are scheduled for shipment in November, December and January.  I thought there might be a hint in the survey they sent as to when mine would be shipped, but there wasn't.  Problem with canceling is they hit you with a 20% handling fee; I thought about it, but figured I might as well ride it out and see what happens.  Hope that was helpful...Good luck!

Congrats. At least you got the survey.

I didn’t receive a survey and don’t recall seeing ordering conditions that include a 20% cancellation charge. Is this the same with the grand Kingdom set or only applicable via the crowdfunding ?
Avatar of joenarvey
Quick afterthought. A 20% deduction shouldn’t be enforceable in the U.K. as the transaction was via a VISA card.

@joenarvey:

Yeah, that 20% fee applied to Kickstarter orders.  Don't know anything about regular orders.

Just been advised the grand kingdom set I ordered several months ago and was confirmed for delivery by august 31st will be a ‘few days late’, 30th September.

Wish I hadn’t ordered this. Amateurs and unprofessional comms. Customer service is a Joke.

joenavey I think you will get over it after it arrives I love mine customer service is a problem but imagine a small company keeping track of all the kickstarter supporters and making the swap and neo at the same time with the supply chain all messed up

Has anyone ordered & received their new products (SWAP or NEO) from Indiegogo? I really really need some reviews for it before I buy it for my Son!

Things I am wondering about:

1. Seems it has to be ordered from Indiegogo. Does it guarantee that my order will be delivered? The reason to ask is due to the below comment from the site.

" Crowdfunding is not shopping

Your donation is a way to support a project but does not guarantee that you will receive a perk.

You may request a full refund from Indiegogo until September 15, 2021. Any refunds after this date are the responsibility of the campaign owner, Infivention Technologies, at their discretion."

2. Any delivery experience from this site?

3. Are terms & condition different if we buy from Indiogog rather than the SquareOff site?

No one has received the SWAP or NEO.  Crowdfunding is about purchasing brand new products at a discount price.  Literally, you are paying for the Research and Development of the product.

They don't exist yet, and no one outside of SquareSoft will get one until at least November 2021 of this year.

There is a different ToS if you buy it directly from SquareSoft.

I have a question about a board i purchased at a steal of a deal without any pieces. if its just a magnetic mechanical system,  wont any magnetic pieces that can freely slide easily work with this chess board? I mean, its not like there is a brain in each piece right?

I'd assume so, yes but I didn't try on mine. You might need ones with the right polarity on possibly so that the electromagnet attracts rather than repels. You also won't want them too heavy as I don't know how strong the moving force is

This is why I did not purchase it, despite high interest. I just don't believe for the mechanical parts or mechanism to last a long time. Given the limited warranty and all that, and typical start-up/crowdfunding service level to be expected, it's such a big gamble.

Square off's official recommendation on it is that they have to be as light as the originals(as other posters have stated), and they have to be as wide as the original pieces, because the Square Off pieces slide around each other. If they are too wide, they would bump into each other.
