i'm just starting to realise the importance of squares in chess. amazing! what are your thoughts on the squares? :)

Very good point Madvilain.

In another post I asked something like the following … "If you have two N`s and two B´s and loose one of each, which case do you think is worst?

I prefer my opponent loosing one B, so I have to worry about only one set the squares, regarding the B´s. And I. myself, will feel handicaped loosing one B.

What about you?

i do like the bishop pair, but knights are tricky. a good night can play better than a bishop in certain structures so i personally play it by ear. started playing the nimzo which often requires the loss of dark square bishop early, good fun to try out play with knights.
