Stan Vaughan's Rating... Uh, What?

Okay... so I understand that not everyone is on board the Stan Vaughan train and I don't want to get into a "this guy's a nutjob" or "he's the salvation of the chess world" type conversation. That's not the point of this thread.

How in the blue hell can someone attain a 4412 rating? I was buzzing around and I came across the WCF's "ratings list" and Stan is listed as a 4412.

So my question is... wha? How is this even fathomable?

A misprint?

EmeraldSpecter

No, sluck72... I'm genuinely interested.

I am doubting this is anything near a USCF rating... you'd think that it would be correct on the WCF website, which is where I found it.

Well, that is nowhere near 4412.

Correct Laughing

When you can assign yourself whatever rating you like, 4412 is easy as pie.

It's funny because up until recently I think he was giving himself only 2900 or so...maybe 3000...

That whacky Stan!
