It depends on the person. Arena doesn't come with a huge number of preinstalled engines, so if you use Arena, you'll eventually need to learn how to install engines into the GUI. On the other hand, Lucas Chess does come with a huge number of preinstalled engines.
Arena works pretty well, but it does have a few bugs, and the Arena developers aren't very fast about fixing bugs.
The Arena Help file is fairly good, and it does have a discussion on installing engines into the GUI. Try reading that first, and if you're still having problems, I'm sure we'll be able to help.
Can anyone tell me if this a good combo for free? Seems good, the only problem is, I can't figure out how to get stock fish into arena, and I can't figure out how to set it to a two player game so I can analyze matches... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
