Yes, and quite an impressive win.

Was the threat after 20. Kxg2 the pawn on f3 and then the eventual somewhat not immediate threat of Qh3?

For example, 20. Kxg2 Bf3+ 21. Nxf3 exf3+ 22. Kg1 Bxg3 23. hxg3 Now Black has no immediate threats but to me it seems impossible to stop mate without losing material after 23... Qf5. 24. Qd1 Re6.

Was there a clearer, simpler win? Did I miss a better defense for White?

9.c5 was a terrible move by Houdini. *cringes at it*

Nice execution by Stockfish. NxP was great! :D

After 20. Kxg2 Qh4!!!, at a depth of 15, Shredder gives 21. Qd1 as a best move for White (which exposes the queen to capture by Black's bishop), so it's a very bad situation for White. It would be even worse if there were 21. Qb3 after 20 ... Qh4, for example, because that is a blunder for which Black has forced mate.
21. Qa5 would lead to a forced mate. I.e., Qh4 dooms White to ruin his material or face mate.
after Qh4 there is a threat of Qh3, Kh1, Bf3, Nxf3, exf3, Rg1, Re4!, Nf1 (to make room on g3 to avoid a quicker mate), Rh4!, followed with the threat of Qxh2, Nxh2, Rxh2 (the rook would be protected by the bishop on b8, whose diagonal is powerful--another try might be 21. f4 to block that diagonal, but White is not in a good place.
In fact, it took Shredder a while to understand that Kxg2 had to be avoided!
