The position below occured in one my games against Fritz, which I eventually went on to win, but I would like someone to tell me what would the ideal strategic plan be for White?
Normally I can come up with some kind of plan, but here I really struggled, first I thought of playing b2-b3 and c3-c4, but Fritz prevented this by playing b7-b5, and even if it hadn't surely opening the position with Knight v Bishop can't be good for White can it?
In the end I just shuffled around and then played f2-f4 contemplating a sacrifice f4-f5 to open the e-file. But again this doesn't seem much good as I can't use the e-file anyway!
Luckily Fritz played f6-f5 and I was able to land the Knight on e5 and bring Rook to g3 which gave me some kind of K-side attack.
For reference I am an unrated player who plays Fritz on the handicapped 'Tit for Tat' level for fun only - but I do like to think that although I make lots of tactical errors I can at least have an idea of what I should be doing in a position.
