As we all know we are facing magnus carlsen in a game of votechess starting April 4. It would be really embarrassing for all the 15000+ members fighting against him if we loose. So we need a good strategy and a clear cut plan to at least put up a good fight. Please put your suggestions and plans to do it in the comments section below let's go.

My suggestion would be to select a solid opening

Leo_Ch3ss_358

There is no opening, this is chess960 ! The back rank pieces are shuffled !

Anonymousplayer_796

Yes like I meant a set of not bad moves to start the game

Leo_Ch3ss_358

Well I see a lot of people suggesting f6/f5 to get the queen and bishop space but that will entirely depend on Magnus' move

Im thinking we commit a pawn, f6 or f5 then develop knights and castle what do you guys think

people are gonna pick intentionally bad moves

Anonymousplayer_796

That is a problem

Leo_Ch3ss_358

Literally why would we, or anyone, do that ? Most the kids are going to use stockfish because they want to beat Magnus, not lose to him ! The problem is cheating.

Anonymousplayer_796

that is a really good point

It's the internet, half of them will pick horrible moves other half will use stockfish

Most guys will pick horrible moves, but only because they are bad at chess.

Engine users will be less than 1%, and destructive trolls will be less than 1%.

I feel like the odds are more for cheaters and trolls cause they have increased substantially recently

Engine users will be less than 1%, and destructive trolls will be less than 1%.

So 99% of moves will be bad
