Is there anything I can do to get out of this streak?
win a game.
Play sober. Seriously
I enjoy a couple of bourbons (usually Woodford Reserve or Bookers) in the evenings, also the the time that I play chess. I have to admit, bourbon does not help my chess rating! Last night, I lost 5 in row by blunders that I should have avoided.
I should also say this: since I know a number of openings, I usually don't lose the game in the opening. Rather it is in the tactical part of the game that I see the effects of the drink. In analysing my moves this AM, clearly, it was big tactical blunders and the inability to count that cost me my games.
It's streaks, some times your heads in the game sometimes it's not. I tend to step away from the board when this happens. Focus on other things, then come back to it with a fresh hunger for the game. But don't focus on the losses, Focus on things like slowing down, thinking your moves prior to making them. You'll be alright, It's hills and valleys like life my friend. See through it....

A week ago I was on the best winning streak ever. Now I cant buy a win. I have lossed 7 almost 8 in a row. I have dropped 53 points in less than a week. Am I doing something wrong or is chess just a streaky game? Is there anything I can do to get out of this streak?
