Never done a post before so not sure if this is the right place to do it but I’ve been stuck at 1000 for a little while now and mostly only play for fun but would love to push up a few hundred elo, anyone got any tips for progressing further? Feel like puzzles and analysing my games / watching YouTubers has helped but not sure what else to do beyond this?

Puzzles, playing games, and reviewing those games.

Hi there,

I am rated over 2400 online (https://www.chess.com/member/ppandachess). I created a free course that will teach you a training plan to improve. Feel free to check it out: https://www.panda-chess.com/daily-improvement-plan

I think that my free training plan can help you.

At your elo you need to learn to do blunder checks before you move and again checking your candidate move before you commit to it. Look for forcing moves, that is checks, captures, and attacks.

I would also recommend checking out https://chess-teacher.com/ and go for the free masterclass. By far Igor is the best chess teacher I've ever seen. I've easily gotten to 1600 on his material and if I studied it harder I'd easily go a lot farther.
