Stuck at 1500

The last two years I have gotten stuck around 1500 on blitz, rapid, and bullet. I will get up around 1600 and drop back down to around 1400 before settling in the 1500s. I bought Modern Chess Openings but it has been less than helpful so far. The first two years I shot up from 12-1500 pretty steadily but at this point I feel stuck.

I play exclusively on mobile and I am wondering if this affects my chances in 1 minute games.

What is the most important book, tutorial series, or engine I need in 2023 to get to 1700+? I play a lot of games but I hardly ever do any 'training'. How do I get over the plateau and start improving my game again?

Thanks

I definitely review games but I could review everything. I was looking more for a YouTube recommendation than a vague notion to search the Internet for a training plan...

Don't play all time controls, pick one and stick to it, let your brain adjust to it.

P. S you should watch speedruns on YouTube and try to emulate what principles the master is teaching, personally I just started following GM Daniel Naroditsky an I went from 1500ish to 1600 winning like 7 games in a row after that I have just hit 1700.

Going from new to 1600 to 1700 in less than 30 days, believe me it works.

Also no need for opening books the speedruns come with amazing opening explanations and ideas, it's like having a free coach.

You should try it but make sure you take it seriously in order for you to improve.

Hopefully this helps.

Seems to me that you need to review your games, pinpoint your weak area(s), then focus your study on them. If you have/are, then after two years it may also warrant a coach, even if temporarily, to help you break past your present barrier.

here are some tips although in only like rated 1300 these are from gotham chess and still roughly apply

1 try to do more puzzles, like at least 5-10 minutes and really focus on them

2 if you want to improve your skills you should take a break from bullet. In bullet you don't really have time to focus and actually think. try to play some 10-15 minute games so you can actually think every turn

3 analyze your games to try to improve on what your mistakes are (blunders, tactics, opening mistakes, or time cntrl etc.)

4 try to learn, this can be pretty much anything from just a more knowledgeable player. whether it be a book, course, coach, or yt
