Play some slow games, spend time on your moves, make notes on why you play certain moves. Then after the game, try and spot your mistakes, not only the move, but your thought process and why you made the mistake i.e. was your position already bad - did you allow his pieces to get too active etc?
All your games are probably too quick.
Yeah I still often end up playing 15/10's thinking it's a blitz game and barely running down my clock...
lol you're stuck in the 900's? i was nearly at 1200 when i quit in 6th and I started at like 600 in 1st grade... now i'm some average scrub to even it all out /end barg
there's a video on youtube by some dude, don't remember the title or the guy, but his entire video was about "to take is a mistake"
To elaborate, if you take a piece, you are giving your opponent the chance to develop pieces (on a lot of occasions, obviously there are times where you should take, but it's up to you to decide.)
Also look up matojelic on youtube. you will learn more there than anyone here can teach you.
I STRESS watching matojelic's videos. they are incredible learning tools...since in elementary school...knowing every opening, or even a single opening...wasn't necessary...imo...lolz... maybe that's why i never did better than 5/7 or 4.5/5....i liked the rule that you could take the king though...and wow, bughouse...
this pos website should upgrade itself to stop sucking and also incorporate bughouse. but first and foremost, the bandwidth this website takes is more than streaming a bluray movie.

HowsKnightMove, already seen the "to take is a mistake" one and I will watch Matojelic. I dislike this site too (can't stand the unatractive and slow interface!) and play most of my games on instantchess.

I play chess for a few months now and I'm still stuck in the horrible rating of 900. Although i'm familiar with some openings, strategies and planning, I just don't seem to get better, which is very frustrating for me, especially after watching a large number of videos on youtube and playing online on a daily basis.
Can you give me any tips that would help me to get better?
(you could watch my game-archive but I really feel my chess.com games don't represent my play and i blunder with no reason.)
