Study Simplification

I played a fair amount of chess and like to improve my playing. Currently around 1400 in correspondence. I only play online correspondence chess. On a different site before but now I’m here since it has such a big community and tools.

I’ve gone over the recommended study plans and it’s a little overwhelming to see how much there is to learn on the road to mastery.

I like watching chess videos. They make the most impact on me.

To radically improve my chess and become a 2000 online chess (correspondence) player what is the best road to walk. What’s is necessary and what isn’t.

Let’s call it a simplification of the study process.

I rather play 3-5 games at 5 days per move and study each opening in depth and take my time to move. Study while playing.

Besides that, what are the best things I can do to deepen my understanding to progress?

Apparently Simon Williams (Ginger GM) made up some sort of series that you have to pay for that promises shortcuts in chess improvements. He seems like a genuine dude, maybe check out if they have any free samples first before buying the actual program.
